What happens to my device(s) after Argos Gadget Trade in have processed them?

Most of the devices we receive are re-used within Europe or more often than not, forwarded onto developing countries across Asia and Africa where mobile telecommunications are much more widespread than landline.

Do you sell devices?

All the devices we purchase are redistributed in bulk to various approved partners in developing countries. We do not sell to the general public.

How much will it cost to send my device(s) to you?

We provide a tracked freepost service which enables you to post up to 2 devices free of charge. If you have more than 2 devices to send us, please register for multiple packs to cover the amount of devices you have. For peace of mind, devices with a value of £50 or more we strongly suggest you use Royal Mail Special Delivery, or other insured delivery service. This will cost approximately £3 - £6.

You can either send us your handset immediately by selecting the “Print Postage” label option and simply take your packaged device to your nearest post office for the ‘tracked’ element to take effect, or select the option for us to send an addressed return envelope to you.

Please note, we cannot accept responsibility for non-delivery of devices.

IMPORTANT! If you trade in 10 or more devices in the one order, you will be given a free courier drop-off or collection service.

What do I need to send you?

All we need is just the handset with its battery. If you want to send charger, box etc then we are happy to recycle these also for you but they will not effect the price paid to you. In addition, if for whatever reason we have to return the handset to you, we cannot guarantee to return any accessories received with it.

What should I not send you?

Please make sure you remember to remove your sim card and any memory cards – we cannot be responsible for any sim cards left in the device and it is not possible to return them once we receive your device.

What if my device is blocked?

We do not purchase blocked handsets. If your device is blocked, it is likely it has been reported lost or stolen. We work closely with the Police and GSMA to ensure any blocked devices are dealt with immediately.

If you are the rightful owner of a blocked handset, we suggest you contact your service provider to have the device unblocked before sending it.

What if my device is Network locked?

Network locked handsets are fine, we accept these.

Do you accept fake/counterfeit devices?

There is a growing number of counterfeit devices in the UK market. These handsets look very similar to genuine products but are illegally produced and may prove to be dangerous to use. We do not accept any non-genuine products.

My device is broken, can I still sell it?

Yes you can, depending upon the level of damage. Please look at the list of requirements on the sales page to see if your device still qualifies. If you are still unsure, then please contact us directly.

How do I get paid?

You will be paid by an Argos eGift card to be used online or in store.

Where can my Argos Gift Card be used?

Argos eGift cards can be used in any Argos store or online at www.argos.co.uk

When can I use my Argos Gift Card?

Argos eGift cards are usually valid for 2 years

How many egift cards can I use online?

Currently, you can’t use a combination of more than three Argos Gift Cards or eGift Cards online at any one time.

How can I check the balance on my eGift card?

Head to Your Account, click on the GIFT CARDS link.

When you reach the balance checker, enter these 2 numbers:
1. the 20-digit Card Number
2. the 4-digit security PIN

Oh no, I've lost my Argos Gift Card! Can I get another?

As long as you have NOT activated your Gift Card, we can replace it. If you need a replacement and your Gift Card has not been activated, please call us on 03454 133940.

How long does it take to get paid?

Normally, with your Argos Gift Card, we will post these out to you within 48 hrs.

How do I stay up to date on the progress of my order?

We will send you emails and text messages at each stage of the process. You can also log on to your account at any time by going to the My Account section of the website.
